自己紹介 About Me

0

Hello! Although I am more widely known by my online alias, Little Gaijin, my real name is Anna and I am a 21 year old hapa (which is Hawaiian slang for a person who has mixed racial heritage, and who is ordinarily half Asian and half Caucasian). I was born in Washington, but I grew up on the islands of Guam and Oahu, Hawaii. In May, 2014, I will move to Tokyo for university! So excite!

I have been learning Japanese on-and-off since 2005. Early 2013, I got an amazing opportunity to work for the American branch campus of the Japanese women's university known as Mukogawa, and I lived on that campus for 5 months. I worked as a "Residents Assistant" to twelve students, and I would teach them lessons about English language and American culture four times a week!

I currently work as a Japanese tutor, and also as a full-time staff member on Gaiwa.co!

On a whim, back in February 2013, I created a online forum geared towards Japanese language learners, and this site somehow reached several thousand hits with over 200 members! I ran this website with friends I made through the site, and after several months we decided that the website had potential to become so much more! We relocated the site, and gave it a massive makeover in October, 2013. It became Gaiwa (short hand for gaijin no kaiwa, or, foreigner's conversation). I now run this awesome new website with four of my friends, and we use this website to share our Japanese-related articles and maintain a large community forum for our members! Our goal is to create the perfect, online, friendly environment for Japanese learners, and to share our knowledge of Japanese and Japanese culture with others. You should join us!

Work aside; I have a little dog named Maddie, and I absolutely love to paint!
